-- Taiwan is seeking closer economic ties with the Philippines during talks with a visiting delegation from the Council on Foreign Relations, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
He said Taipei aims to link its Taiwan-Philippines Economic Corridor with the U.S.-Japan-Philippines Luzon Economic Corridor to boost supply chain resilience. Lin highlighted complementary strengths, with the U.S. offering advanced technology, Taiwan manufacturing capacity, and the Philippines labor and land resources.
He also pointed to plans by the U.S. and the Philippines to establish a large economic security zone to boost industrial cooperation. Lin said combining these strengths could help build more resilient "democratic" supply chains and support regional stability and growth.
