Kyokuyo Unit Enters Bankruptcy Proceedings in Thailand

作者

-- A Thai court has placed Kyokuyo Thailand under receivership, with bankruptcy proceedings set to follow, its parent, Japanese general foods company Kyokuyo (TYO:1301) said in a Monday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The move follows a lawsuit by Krung Thai Bank over factoring debt, with Thailand's Supreme Court ordering the subsidiary to pay 279 million baht plus interest in 2024.

Kyokuyo Thailand had total liabilities of about 1.45 billion yen as of the end of December 2025.

Kyokuyo has no outstanding claims against the unit and has already fully provided for related losses, it said.
