The inquiry will look into whether the company complied with regulations when it comes to the transfer of European consumers' personal data to China.
Shein said it has been "actively engaging" with the regulator in recent months regarding data protection, and it is "fully committed" to complying with regulations. The company added that it is taking its data protection obligations "extremely seriously," Reuters reported Tuesday, citing an emailed statement from the company.
