-- Cybozu (TYO:4776) will begin full-scale consideration of building an arena in Ehime Prefecture, according to a Thursday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The proposed facility would have a capacity of at least 5,000 seats and meet professional basketball league requirements, with estimated construction costs of about 10.5 billion yen, which could rise to around 15 billion yen due to inflation and higher material costs.
The company said the plan remains under review, with no decision made on construction or site selection. It aims to identify a potential location by year-end while continuing discussions with local governments and stakeholders.
Cybozu entered the region's sports business in 2025 through its involvement with the Ehime Orange Vikings basketball team and said the arena project could support regional revitalization and digital transformation efforts.
