-- Assertio Holdings (ASRT) shares were up more than 17% in recent trading on Monday after the company said the price of its acquisition by Garda Therapeutics has been raised to $21.80 a share from $18 when the deal was announced last month.
The amended agreement raises the total acquisition price to $153.2 million from $125.1 million
The deal is expected to close in Q2, and is subject to customary closing conditions, including the tender of a majority of Assertio's outstanding shares.
Following the completion of the tender offer, Garda will acquire any remaining shares through a second-step merger for $21.80 per share in cash. When the deal closes, Assertio's common stock will cease trading on Nasdaq.
