-- Thailand gave a green light to six major investment projects worth 958 billion baht, with a plan by a local TikTok unit being the largest, according to a Wednesday statement by the country's investment board.
TikTok System (Thailand) is launching an 842 billion baht project to expand data infrastructure by installing new servers and boosting data storage and processing capacity, the board said.
Two of the other projects are also in the data center niche, with the remaining in the renewable energy, circular economy and resource-based industries.
Additionally, a second batch of projects under the Thailand FastPass mechanism and aimed at strengthening electricity readiness and improving access to clean energy, was also approved.
