NWS Warns of Severe Storms in Midwest, Potentially Reaching into Central, Southern Plains

-- The US National Weather Service said severe storms would reach the Midwest on Tuesday afternoon or evening, potentially threatening the central and southern plains also.

Thunderstorms were also expected on Tuesday and Wednesday across Texas and the mid-South with potentially damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes and floods.

There were freeze warnings in Idaho covering Rexburg, Rigby, Idaho Falls and Pocatello.

The main power providers in the state are Idacorp (IDA) unit Idaho Power, Avista Utilities (AVA) and PacifiCorp unit Rocky Mountain Power.

There was also a freeze warning for Riverton, Casper, Buffalo, Worland, Grey Bull, Cody and Lander in Wyoming where the main electricity provider is Rocky Mountain Power.

In New York state, there was a red flag warning for potential thunderstorms covering Poughkeepsie, Montecello and Albany.

The main power provider in the affected areas is Eversource Energy (ES).
