Indonesia's Money Supply Growth Quickens to 9.7% in March

-- Indonesia's broad money supply (M2) grew 9.7% year-on-year in March to 10,355.1 trillion rupiah, according to central bank data.

The latest expansion accelerated from the 8.7% growth in February, as narrow money (M1) increased 14.4% and quasi-money climebd 5.2%.

The growth in M2 was mainly driven by stronger net claims on the central government, which surged 39.2% in March versus 25.6% in February.

Disbursed loans also contributed, rising 8.9% year-on-year, unchanged from the previous month's pace, Bank Indonesia said.
