-- France's annual inflation grew to 2.2% in April, from 1.7% in the previous month, provisional data from statistics agency Insee showed Thursday.
The reading is higher than the consensus estimate of 2%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were 1% higher, consistent with the prior month and against the expected 0.9% gain.
The flash annual harmonized inflation rate came in at 2.5%, against the previous month's 2% and the market forecast of 2.3%. Month over month, harmonized consumer prices gained 1.2%, against the previous 1.1% increase and the expected 0.9% growth.
