-- Eli Lilly (LLY) said Wednesday it will invest an additional $4.5 billion in two of its facilities in Lebanon, Indiana, bringing its total capital expansion commitments in the state to more than $21 billion since 2020.
The additional investment will fund new process designs and technologies at Lilly Lebanon Advanced Therapies, a dedicated genetic medicine plant opening Wednesday, and Lilly Lebanon API, an active pharmaceutical ingredient facility expected to open in 2027, the company said.
The Lebanon Advanced Therapies site is designed to handle operations ranging from clinical research to commercial production of therapies targeting diseases at the genetic level, Lilly said.
The Lebanon campus will also include the planned Lilly Medicine Foundry facility, the company said.
