Zacatecas Silver (ZAC.V) posted assay results from the initial rock-chip sampling program at the Oso Negro project in Mexico, with the results demonstrating system-scale continuity, the company said in a Tuesday release.
Up to 14.8 grams per tonne gold and 2,340 g/t silver was returned from surface rock-chip sampling. High-grade results were confirmed across a minimum of 2 kilometers combined strike length on two veins.
Three outcropping low sulphidation veins were also identified, up to 3 meters wide, consistent with a well-developed epithermal system.
Of the 134 vein samples, 39 assayed between 1 g/t and 14.8 g/t gold, 35 assayed between 100 g/t and 2,340 g/t silver, and 11 assayed over 1% combined lead and zinc. Gold, silver, lead, and zinc show strong positive correlation throughout the sample population.
The company plans to submit a drill permit application to Mexico's federal environment ministry before the end of June.
