Thai Nakarin Hospital (BKK:TNH) net profit slumped 32% to 59.9 million baht for the fiscal third quarter ended April 30, from 87.6 million baht a year earlier, according to a Monday Thailand Exchange filing.
The hospital attributed the decline to weak operating performance despite relatively stable outpatient volumes.
Revenue from hospital operations also fell 5.1% to 633.3 million baht, driven mainly by a sharp 16.99% decline in inpatient income. The company cited tighter insurance reimbursement conditions and fewer high-value surgical procedures as key factors behind the weakness.
Costs rose as the operating expense-to-revenue ratio increased by 2.76%, reflecting staff allocation to a newly launched unit, and higher depreciation from facility upgrades, the filing said.
