Hengtong Optic-Electric's (SHA:600487) net profit attributable to shareholders in the first quarter surged 98.5% year on year to 1.11 billion yuan from 556.8 million yuan, according to a Shanghai bourse filing over the weekend.Earnings per share increased to 0.4563 yuan from 0.2298 yuan.Revenue climbed 34% year on year to 17.8 billion yuan from 13.3 billion yuan, the Chinese fiber optic cable manufacturer said, attributing the growth to increased demand and prices in the optical communication market.Hengtong also cited increased deliveries of marine communication and energy products and growing demand in overseas markets among the factors for the improved performance.

Eneos Holdings (TYO:5020) is strengthening governance and compliance after authorities indicted its unit Eneos Wing over alleged antimonopoly violations in diesel fuel sales in Tokyo, according to a Monday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.The Japan Fair Trade Commission indicted Eneos Wing on April 17 on suspicion of coordinating diesel prices, with prosecutors filing charges the same day.Eneos Holdings is restructuring management at Eneos Wing, setting up a compliance unit, and expanding audits and executive training across key group companies.The parent has also conducted a cartel risk review and has not identified significant issues, it said.

Solstice Minerals (ASX:SLS) found visible copper sulfide mineralization in multiple zones downhole during its diamond drilling at the Nanadie project in Western Australia, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.The first diamond drillhole tail was completed to a final depth of 629 meters, the filing said.Geological logging and core processing are in progress, and assay results are expected in about five to six weeks, per the filing.Shares rose nearly 12% in midday trade on Monday and earlier reached an all-time high.
