-- Noveria Energy said on Wednesday that it has signed a grid connection construction agreement with transmission system operator Tennet Germany that will enable it to install a 250-megawatt battery energy storage system that it will operate from early 2028.
The BESS system will be installed in Niedersachen, Germany, in the country's breezier northern offshore wind-generation hub.
The agreement establishes technical criteria to enable the installation to support grid stability and integrate renewable power, the statement said.
Noveria said that BESS systems are taking on an important role in making it possible to manage growing volumes of renewable energy and in ensuring security of supply.
The company, founded in 2023 and a portfolio company of Bluestar Energy Capital in the US, has a pipeline of more than 3 gigawatts of BESS assets, it said.
