-- Meitec Group (TYO:9744) said an interim dividend paid in November 2025 exceeded the distributable amount allowed under Japan's Companies Act due to a calculation error, according to a Monday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The company said the 90 yen-per-share interim dividend, totaling 6.95 billion yen, exceeded the legally distributable amount of 3.47 billion yen as of Sept. 30, 2025.
Meitec said it identified the issue after a comment from its accounting auditor and has appointed external lawyers and an accountant to investigate the matter and prevention measures.
The company said it does not plan to seek the return of dividends already paid and still expects to pay the planned year-end dividend of 91 yen per share for fiscal 2026.
