Clean Max Enviro Energy Ties Up with Shell India for Renewable Energy Projects

-- Renewable energy company Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions (NSE:CLEANMAX, BOM:544717) has partnered with Shell India to supply renewable electricity to the latter's assets in Gujarat and Karnataka in India, according to a Tuesday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.

The company will supply renewable power to Shell's LNG terminal at Hazira, Surat, from its 16.83 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat, under the group-captive model. The renewable energy plant in Gujarat comprises 6.93 MWp of solar and 9.90 MW of wind capacity.

It will also supply power to Shell's technology center in Bengaluru from its 13.2 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Karnataka, consisting of 9.9 MWp of solar capacity in Jagalur and 3.3 MW of wind capacity in Honawad.

Under the group-captive program, both companies will co-invest to develop these renewable energy assets. Together, the projects are expected to generate approximately 66,832 MWh of renewable energy annually.

The company's shares were down nearly 1% in recent trade.

Energy stocks were higher Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1.1% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) adding 1.2%.The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was climbing 1.8%, while the Dow Jones US Utilities Index fell 1.3%.Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil was rising 4.8% to $93.94 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was advancing 4.4% to $99.68 a barrel.
