-- NTPC (NSE:NTPC, BOM:532555) said 87.5 MW of solar capacity of a 150 MW project in Rajasthan has been declared on commercial operation, effective April 19, according to an Indian bourse filing on Friday.
Shares of the company rose over 1% in Monday's trade.
The capacity has been commissioned by a group company of NTPC Green Energy, the filing said.
With this, the total commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy group has increased to 10,363.90 MW from 10,276.40 MW, it added.

Energy stocks were higher Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1.1% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) adding 1.2%.The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was climbing 1.8%, while the Dow Jones US Utilities Index fell 1.3%.Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil was rising 4.8% to $93.94 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was advancing 4.4% to $99.68 a barrel.
