BT Brands Says Aero Velocity, AC Future to Develop Mobile Drone Launch Vehicle

-- BT Brands (BTBD) said Tuesday its proposed merger partner, Aero Velocity, has entered into a partnership with AC Future to develop a mobile drone launch vehicle platform for US military and public-sector applications.

Financial details of the partnership weren't provided.

The platform will provide mobile drone launch, recovery, and command capabilities in harsh environments for intelligence, surveillance, electronic warfare, and emergency response operations, the company said.

Aero Velocity and AC Future intend to integrate a ruggedized all-terrain vehicle with multi-drone systems and secure communications while pursuing funding from the US Department of Defense and other government agencies, BT Brands added.

Shares of BT Brands were up 5.9% in Tuesday afternoon trading.

Energy stocks were higher Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Energy Sector Index rising 1.1% and the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) adding 1.2%.The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index was climbing 1.8%, while the Dow Jones US Utilities Index fell 1.3%.Front-month West Texas Intermediate crude oil was rising 4.8% to $93.94 a barrel, and the global benchmark Brent crude contract was advancing 4.4% to $99.68 a barrel.
