道明銀行表示,推動加拿大零售銷售成長的可能是物價上漲而非全面需求成長。

-- TD經濟分析師瑪麗亞·索洛維耶夫(Maria Soloviev)在周五公佈2月份零售銷售數據後表示,消費者在2月份再次展現了「穩健」的消費表現,初步跡象表明3月份的消費勢頭將延續。但3月通膨率飆升,顯示部分成長動力並非源自於全面需求成長,而是由物價上漲推動。 她在分析週五公佈的數據時指出,TD內部支出數據顯示,3月可自由支配支出放緩。 索洛維耶夫表示,能源價格上漲將削弱購買力,但TD預計不會對國內需求造成實質削弱,其影響已包含在TD的預期中。她補充說,加上人口成長疲軟和貿易相關不利因素的拖累,預計今年經濟成長速度將低於趨勢水準。 TD指出,2月零售銷售額較上季成長0.7%,連續第二個月維持成長動能。這一數字低於加拿大統計局先前預估的0.9%的增幅。從數量來看,活動較上季僅成長0.3%,增幅較為溫和,顯示整體成長主要受價格上漲所推動。 展望未來,加拿大統計局的初步估計顯示,3月活動較上季將進一步成長0.6%。
