Canada's Prime Minister Carney Says Some US Tariff Deals 'Not Worth the Paper'

Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney warned that some U.S. tariff-relief deals have delivered little value, saying countries that rushed into agreements are not happy, according to an interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation."A lot of countries rushed into deals with the US. They weren't really worth the paper they were written on," Carney said, adding that other leaders are "certainly not" happy with the outcomes.Carney said Canada is in no hurry to sign a minor deal, cautioning against pursuing a "small deal that disadvantages us" just to ease tariffs. He added that a broader deal could be reached quickly if both sides were aligned, but noted the U.S. has yet to fully engage, saying that it takes "two to negotiate it through, and they're not all the way there."
