-- 春の気温が需要を抑制し続けていることを受け、天然ガス先物価格は木曜早朝、新たな在庫データ発表を前に下落した。6月渡しの天然ガス先物価格は、100万BTUあたり0.04ドル安の2.69ドルで取引されている。 春の穏やかな気候が需要を抑制し続けているため、天然ガス価格は4月1日の冷房シーズン開始以来、3.00ドルを下回っている。米国気象局の長期予報では、今後8~14日間の気温はほとんどの州で平年より高くなるものの、真夏の最高気温には遠く及ばないとされている。 「季節的なメンテナンス作業が本格化しており、需要を抑制し、既に供給過剰状態にある市場にさらに供給過剰をもたらしている(在庫は過去5年間の平均を7.7%上回っている)。しかし、夏に入り、新たなLNGプラントが稼働を開始すれば、この閑散期の状況は短期間で終わるだろう」と、RBCキャピタル・マーケッツの天然ガス・金ストラテジスト、クリストファー・ルーニー氏は述べている。 エネルギー情報局は木曜午前中に、天然ガスの在庫に関する週次調査結果を発表する予定だ。セルシウス・エナジーは、同機関が在庫量が730億立方フィート増加したと報告すると予想しており、これは過去5年間の週間平均を40億立方フィート上回る。
