Market Chatter: Australia's Viva Energy Plans to Restart Geelong Refinery in June
Australia's Viva Energy said on Monday that it will complete the repair work at its Geelong Refinery in about six weeks, following a fire at the facility in April, according to a Reuters report.The country's largest refinery, with a capacity of 120,000 barrels per day, is expected to restart its residue catalytic cracking unit in June following the prolonged outage, during a period of persistent fuel shortages due to supply disruptions linked to the war in Iran."Production is expected to increase to over 90% of capacity following the restart of the RCCU," Viva Energy said in a statement on Monday.Viva Energy did not immediately respond to' request for a comment on this story.(Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
