Research Alert: Fslr Delivers Resilient Results Despite Continued Backlog Shrinkage
CFRA, an independent research provider, has providedwith the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:FSLR delivered record Q1 2026 revenue of $1.04B (+24% Y/Y, in line with consensus) with record module volumes of 3.8 GW, driving gross margin expansion to 46.5% (+570 bps) and diluted EPS of $3.22, beating consensus of $2.83. Adjusted EBITDA reached $519.8M (+37% Y/Y, 12% over consensus) with margin expanding to 49.8% (+500 bps), demonstrating strong operational leverage. Backlog declined to 47.9 GW from 50.1 GW sequentially, a worrisome trend that warrants close monitoring as sales continue outpacing new bookings. Management forecasts Q2 module sales of 3.4-4.0 GW with Section 45X credits of $330-400M. We expect commercial solar project activity may accelerate heading into mid-year as developers rush to meet the July 4, 2026 tax credit eligibility deadline, which could drive an inflection in bookings during Q2 and Q3. Section 45X credits are projected at $2.15B for the full year, and FSLR's integrated manufacturing approach positions the company favorably to capitalize on IRA support.
Research Alert: Eastman Chemical Posts Mixed Q1 Results
CFRA, an independent research provider, has providedwith the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:Eastman Chemical posted Q1 adjusted EPS of $1.09, down from $1.91 a year ago, missing our $1.37 estimate but beating the $1.06 consensus. Sales fell 5% to $2.177B amid customer inventory destocking, weak consumer discretionary demand, and Middle East conflict impacts. The company implemented ~$500M in price increases to offset raw material inflation, while the Kingsport methanolysis facility remained on track to deliver ~$30M in incremental full-year earnings. Management maintained its cost-reduction target of $125M-$150M in savings net of inflation for 2026. Adjusted EBIT margin contracted 440 bps to 9.2% as lower volumes and challenging market conditions compressed profitability across most segments, though sequential improvement emerged with specialty business volume/mix rising over 10% and EBIT margins expanding 240 bps from Q4. The company maintained financial flexibility with $665M in cash and a solid investment-grade balance sheet.
Research Alert: CFRA Downgrades Opinion On Shares Of Omnicom Group Inc From Buy To Hold
CFRA, an independent research provider, has providedwith the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:We cut our target by $31 to $79, 9x our 2026 EPS estimate (down from 10x), a discount to OMC's 12x 10-year average forward multiple. We lower our 2026 EPS to $8.75 from $11.09 and 2027's to $8.91 from $12.53, reflecting planned asset dispositions and client account losses. We downgrade from Buy to Hold following Q1 results, which highlighted greater-than-expected client account losses and the impact of planned asset dispositions, as well as significantly higher interest expense. These headwinds more than offset improved core EBITA margin of 14.1% (+240 bps). While we acknowledge significant buyback activity ($2.1 billion authorized) and the AI-enabled Omni platform that could modernize OMC's ad solutions and improve competitiveness in new client wins, we believe these positives are insufficient to offset near-term revenue and earnings pressure. At current levels, we believe shares should trade at a lower justified multiple than historically given the challenging growth profile and integration risks.
