-- パトリオット・バッテリー・メタルズ（PMET.TO）は、ケベック州シャアキチウワナーン鉱区のCV5ペグマタイトから、高回収率・高品位のスポジュメン精鉱の生産に成功したと、日曜遅くに発表した。 同社は、重液分離（DMS）パイロットプラントを用いて、CV5ペグマタイトから高品位（リチウム酸化物含有率6.09%）、低鉄含有量（0.58%）、高回収率（89.0%）のスポジュメン精鉱4.47トンを生産した。 「アップルピック」と名付けられたこのプログラムでは、CV5主要露頭の氷河直下に位置する、角張った大型の鉱化岩塊を複数採取し、現地で破砕後、高品位原料としてSGS（レイクフィールド）に輸送し、DMSパイロットプラントで処理した。 同社は、生産された精鉱は、シャアキチウワナーン鉱区におけるDMSのみの処理経路の可能性をさらに実証するものだと述べている。 この手法により、掘削を必要とせずに、大規模かつ迅速かつ費用対効果の高いスポジュメン精鉱の生成が可能になりました。 パイロットプラントから得られたDMS尾鉱は、現在進行中の実現可能性調査段階のタンタル回収プログラムの原料としても利用されました。 ApplePickプログラムの成功を受け、当社は、より大規模なパイロット試験および精鉱サンプル調製のために、地表のポルサイトサンプルを対象とした「BerryPick」プログラムを開始する予定です。
